Relish the light and flavorful taste of Aloo Poha, a traditional Indian breakfast dish made from flattened rice (poha) and potatoes (aloo). This quick and easy dish is sautéed with onions, mustard seeds, turmeric, green chilies, and garnished with fresh coriander leaves. The potatoes add a hearty texture, while the spices give it a zesty flavour. Perfect for a wholesome breakfast or snack, Aloo Poha is a beloved dish that combines the simplicity of ingredients with delightful flavours. Enjoy this comforting and nutritious meal, a staple in many Indian households.
Take a vessel and 5 cup Flattened Rice with water after sieving it.
Now add water so that they get soaked. Soak for 40-60 seconds and drain the water completely.
Now slit and chop 5 nos Green Chilli, chop 3 nos Onion in medium size, chop 1 no Potato and ½ bunch Coriander leaves. Collect in a plate.
Now toss the flattened rice and gently separate if there is any stickiness. Then add 2 tsp Salt and 1 tsp Turmeric Powder. Mix them gently.
Now in a steel kadhai heat 6 tbsp Oil. Now add 1 tsp Mustard Seeds and 1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
Then add Chopped Green Chilli's and 10 nos Curry leaves. Mix it and add ½ cup Peanuts and ¼ cup Roasted Bengal Gram. Mix it and fry for 2-3 minutes or until crunchy.
Now add Chopped Potato Pieces. Fry on medium flame until it gets half cooked. It takes around 3-4 minutes.
Now add Chopped Onions and turn the flame to high and mix it. Cook until the onion gets half cooked.
Now turn the flame to low and add flattened rice and mix it gently and thoroughly. It takes 2 minutes.
Now sprinkle chopped coriander leaves, turn off the flame and mix it. Transfer to a container. Aloo Poha is ready.
