Delight in the wholesome goodness of Satvik Khichdi, a nourishing dish deeply rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. Crafted from rice and lentils, this one-pot wonder is gentle on the stomach and brimming with essential nutrients. Take a bowl and wash 1 cup Rice and ½ cup Moong Dal thoroughly. Soak in water for 30 mins.
Take a claypot and heat 1 tbsp Ghee on low flame. Now add 1 tsp Cumin Seeds, ½ tsp Black Pepper and 20 nos Curry leaves. Roast them for a minute.
Now add soaked Rice and Moong Dal. Roast it for 2-3 minutes on low flame. Then add 7½ cup Water. Mix it and close the lid and let it boil on high flame.
Now lower the flame, add 1½ tsp Salt and ½ tsp Turmeric Powder and mix it. Now close the lid and cook on low flame until water is absorbed / evaporated. Stir in between.
Turn off the flame when water is very less and let Khichdi cook in heat of pot for 5-10 mins. Satvik Khichdi is ready.
