Lauki Thalipeeth | How to make Bottle gourd Paratha

Lauki Thalipeeth, a beloved Maharashtrian delicacy, seamlessly melds the nutritional benefits of bottle gourd with the diverse textures of mixed flours. The grated bottle gourd, imbuing the dough with moisture and a delicate sweetness, harmonizes with a blend of whole wheat and chickpea flours. This dough, enlivened with a symphony of spices such as cumin seeds, turmeric and chili powder. Kneaded to perfection, the dough is then formed into round flatbreads and skillfully cooked on a hot griddle or tawa until achieving a golden-brown, crispy exterior on both sides. A drizzle of ghee or oil during the cooking process enhances its texture and flavor.

  • Heat tawa and sprinkle oil on it. With the help of cloth turn around and put the flat dough on tawa and gently remove the cloth. Now roast the flat dough from medium to high flame using oil and from center to every corner on both sides.
  • After it is roasted completely transfer to a plate. Lauki Thalipeeth is ready. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
