  • Spatula
  • Chopper Board

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl and add 1 cup Jowar, wash it and soak in water for 10-12 hours.
  • Now transfer the soaked Jowar in a pressure cooker draining the water.
  • Now add 2 cup Water and close the lid. Heat on high flame for first whistle.
  • Turn the flame to low and let 5 whistles happen.
  • Take 2 nos Tomato, 6 nos Green Chilli and 15 nos Curry leaves. Wash them and chop tomatoes and green chilli in medium size.
  • Take 2 nos Onion and chop them in long slices.
  • If 5 whistles happened, turn off the flame and remove the cooker from stove for cooling down.
  • Open the lid and check if the Jowar is cooked soft. If not cook for more 2-3 whistles adding water.
  • Now take a steel kadhai and heat 3 tbsp Oil.
  • Then add 1 tsp Mustard Seeds, 1 tsp Cumin Seeds and let it fry for few seconds.
  • Now add 15 nos Curry leaves, chopped green chilli, let it fry for a minute.
  • Now add chopped onions, and fry on high flame until they get half cooked.
  • Now add ¼ cup Green Peas and chopped tomatoes. Turn the flame to low and mix them and cook for a minute.
  • Now add 1 tsp Salt and ½ tsp Turmeric Powder. Mix it.
  • Now transfer Jowar in the steel kadhai and squeeze juice of 1 no Lemon. Mix them.
  • Now cook for 5-10 minutes on low flame closing with a lid while stirring in between.
  • Now open the lid, mix once and sprinkle 1 bunch Chopped Coriander Leaves. Turn off the flame and mix it.
  • Remove the steel kadhai from flame and close it with lid. Let it cook in steam for 10 minutes. Jowar Upma is ready.
