What sets Bread Halwa apart is its method of preparation, which elevates plain bread to a delectable dessert. The process begins with cutting bread slices into small pieces or crumbs, which are then lightly toasted in ghee until they turn golden brown and crisp. This step enhances the flavour and adds a rich, nutty aroma to the halwa. Next, a mixture of milk and sugar is simmered and added to the toasted bread, allowing it to absorb the liquid and become soft and creamy. The mixture is cooked until it thickens. To enhance the flavour, cardamom powder is sprinkled in, and the halwa is often garnished with roasted nuts such as cashews and almonds. The result is a luscious, aromatic dessert that melts in the mouth, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and richness.

The use of bread, a common household ingredient, reflects the ingenuity of Indian cooking, where simple items are transformed into extraordinary dishes.
